Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Khereiji in Jeddah to discuss ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Council of Foreign Ministers, where leaders addressed Muslim states' response to Israel's recognition of Somaliland.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation for regional peace, stability, and security. Ishaq Dar also met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, emphasizing Pakistan's condemnation of Israel's move and its support for Somalia's sovereignty. He called for increased efforts to support the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have longstanding ties in defense, trade, and other sectors, with Saudi Arabia being a major source of remittances for Pakistan. Their strategic partnership agreement further solidifies mutual support in times of aggression.
