Lebanese authorities have charged four individuals in connection with the alleged kidnapping of retired security officer Ahmad Shukr, believed to be orchestrated by Israel's Mossad spy agency. Shukr, whose brother was linked to the 1986 disappearance of Israeli airman Ron Arad, vanished last month in eastern Lebanon. The suspects include a Lebanese man who is in custody, as well as a Lebanese woman, a Lebanese-French man, and a Syrian-Swedish man who remain at large. The charges allege that the group collaborated with Mossad and carried out the abduction for financial gain. Lebanon has a history of arresting individuals suspected of working with Israel, and Mossad is frequently accused of espionage activities in the country.
