An Israeli citizen was arrested in Thailand's Krabi district following a police raid on a cannabis farm he owned. The operation, led by local authorities, targeted the farm for allegedly circumventing Thai business laws by using Thai nationals as nominal shareholders while foreign nationals maintained control.
Authorities discovered a fully equipped indoor cannabis facility, which was reportedly used for unauthorized activities such as tourist tours, on-site cannabis consumption, and the extraction and sale of products with high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol, exceeding legal limits.
The Krabi governor emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal foreign-run businesses, while police revealed that the investigation involved months of surveillance. Charges have been filed against the Israeli owner and four Thai nationals accused of facilitating the scheme.
