The United Nations has warned that the ceasefire in Gaza remains extremely fragile, with ongoing Israeli military operations, severe restrictions on humanitarian aid, and worsening living conditions for displaced Palestinians. Despite some increases in aid deliveries, most people in Gaza still depend on humanitarian assistance, and many are living in inadequate shelters amid harsh winter weather. The United Nations official highlighted that Israeli restrictions on critical supplies and the suspension of international aid organizations are severely hampering relief efforts.
In the occupied West Bank, the situation is also deteriorating, with intensified Israeli military actions, expanding settlements, settler violence, demolitions, and large-scale arrests, including of minors. Palestinian attacks against Israelis have continued, while settler violence has forced entire communities to flee. The United Nations condemned recent Israeli actions against the agency for Palestinian refugees and warned that continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues is deepening the fiscal crisis for the Palestinian Authority. The official cautioned that unless these trends are urgently reversed, hopes for a two-state solution and the stability of the ceasefire are at risk.
