Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the newly established Medal of the Knesset by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana in recognition of his significant contributions to the State of Israel and the Jewish people. The honor was presented after Modi addressed the Knesset, where he highlighted the strengthening relationship between New Delhi and Jerusalem.

According to the Knesset spokesperson's office, Modi was chosen for deepening strategic cooperation between India and Israel. During his tenure, collaboration expanded in security, technology, innovation, and cyber development, alongside stronger political and cultural ties.

Ohana described the moment as historic for both the Knesset and Israel, praising Modi for fostering a strategic alliance between the two nations.
