Iran's foreign minister has warned that Tehran will retaliate if its energy facilities are attacked amid escalating tensions with the United States and Israel. The warning follows reported United States strikes on military infrastructure located on Iran's crude oil export hub of Kharg Island.
According to state television, the foreign minister said Iran would target facilities belonging to American companies in the region, including firms in which the United States holds shares, if Iranian energy infrastructure is hit. He emphasized that Iran would respond directly to any such attack.
At the same time, he stated that Tehran would act cautiously to avoid striking densely populated areas, signaling an effort to limit civilian harm even as it threatens reciprocal action.
