Air-raid sirens sounded in Haifa and nearby communities on Monday after rockets were launched from Lebanon, marking the first time alerts were triggered in the area since the war with Iran began. The projectiles activated warning systems without the usual advance notice provided to residents.
The incident was also the first rocket fire from Lebanese territory since a ceasefire with Hezbollah took effect in November 2024. That truce had ended months of cross-border fighting with the Iran-backed group, making the renewed launch a significant escalation along the northern front.
