A group of Columbia University students and alumni chained themselves to the campus gates in protest for the release of two Palestinian Arab students held in ICE custody. The demonstration called for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi and included demands for financial transparency from the University and the designation of Columbia as a sanctuary campus. The protest marks the second time this semester that demonstrators have chained themselves to campus gates.
