Police in southern Israel seized NIS 150,000 in cash and hundreds of archaeological artifacts from a suspect's residence in a raid. The items, including ancient coins, arrowheads, pottery vessels, and oil lamps, date back nearly 2,800 years. The raid was prompted by intelligence suggesting the suspect's involvement in illegal antiquities trafficking, and police also discovered metal detectors commonly used by looters. The suspect is believed to have been involved in the illegal holding and sale of antiquities, and the case will be transferred to the Israel Antiquities Authority's legal department for consideration of criminal charges.
