US-based monitoring and analytics company Datadog is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Israeli cybersecurity firm Upwind Security for up to $1 billion. The deal, which is expected to include both cash and shares, would mark Datadog's largest acquisition in Israel so far. Upwind Security specializes in real-time protection for software systems operating in cloud environments, offering solutions that go beyond static analysis to actively identify and prevent threats during application runtime. Founded in 2022 by experienced entrepreneurs, Upwind has quickly gained attention and investment, raising $180 million and employing around 200 people across Israel and the US. If completed, this acquisition would further strengthen Datadog's position in the cloud security market and expand its presence in Israel's tech ecosystem.
