Britain, France, and Germany have formally notified the United Nations of their readiness to reimpose sanctions on Iran if no diplomatic solution is reached regarding its nuclear program by the end of August. In a joint letter, the European powers emphasized their commitment to preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon and warned they would trigger the snapback mechanism from the 2015 international agreement if necessary. The letter outlined Iran's breaches of the deal, including excessive uranium enrichment, and stressed the urgency of renewed cooperation with international inspectors. Iran responded by threatening to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty should sanctions be reinstated, while talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency remain uncertain.
