Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar is set to travel to Africa to inaugurate Israel's embassy in Zambia, marking a significant renewal of diplomatic ties after decades. The embassy opening ceremony will take place in Lusaka, where Sa'ar will meet with Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema, Foreign Minister Mulambo Haimbe, and Speaker of Parliament Nelly Mutti. During the visit, several initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral relations will be introduced.
On his way to Zambia, Sa'ar will stop in Addis Ababa for a meeting with Ethiopia's Foreign Minister, Dr. Gedion Timotheos. The reopening of the embassy in Zambia is part of a wider strategy to expand Israel's engagement with African countries, reflecting one of Sa'ar's key foreign policy objectives for the coming year.
