The Israel Defense Forces have issued orders to call up sixty thousand reservists as preparations intensify for a new offensive in and around Gaza City. An additional twenty thousand reservists already serving will have their orders extended, as senior commanders finalize plans for a gradual and precise operation. Five divisions are expected to participate in the offensive, which aims to secure the release of hostages and defeat the Palestinian armed group.
Defence Minister Katz has stated that Gaza will undergo significant changes following the operation, with plans to accommodate displaced residents in southern areas such as al-Mawasi, where new food distribution points and field hospitals are being established. The Givati Brigade has resumed operations in Jabalia and near Gaza City, focusing on dismantling military infrastructure and consolidating control.
Civilians have been urged to move south for safety, as the situation in Gaza City remains dire. According to local agencies, Israeli strikes and shelling have resulted in multiple casualties, including children, as fighting continues in several neighborhoods.
