The community of Gitit in the Jordan Valley united in support of the Shtivi family following the tragic loss of Idan Shtivi during the October 7th massacre. Residents honored Idan's memory through acts of kindness, public displays, and cultural events, reflecting his impact on the moshav. A new community garden, created by the local youth group, was dedicated in Idan's name to celebrate his passion for agriculture and the land.

On the day of the garden's dedication, the Shtivi family was traveling from central Israel to attend the ceremony when they received news from the Defense Ministry that Idan's body had been recovered. The family turned back, and the event continued in their absence, marked by deep emotion and prayers for confirmation of the identification.
