The government is set to approve the release of 250 Palestinian Arab prisoners serving life sentences, along with 1,700 Gaza residents and 22 minors who were detained after the recent conflict but were not involved in the October seventh attacks. This move is part of a broader agreement that will also see the return of 20 living Israeli hostages and 28 deceased hostages from Gaza, including four non-Israelis. In exchange for the deceased hostages, Israel will transfer the bodies of 360 terrorists to Gaza, following a set ratio per deceased hostage. The released life-term prisoners will be deported to Gaza or abroad, with countries such as Turkey and Qatar expected to accept many of them. The list of prisoners to be released will be made public once approved, continuing the government's practice from previous cases.
