Denmark has decided not to proceed with the purchase of the Barak MX air defense system from Israel Aerospace Industries, following recommendations from its military leadership. Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated that resources initially considered for the Barak MX will now be redirected to initiatives that promise more immediate combat capability, particularly for rapid land-based air defense. The decision comes amid heightened concerns over drone threats in Europe, although Denmark has not yet revealed which alternative systems it will pursue. The Barak MX system, which offers a range of interceptor missiles and has been adopted by several countries, will not be part of Denmark's defense upgrade plans.
