Residents living near Israel's border with Egypt report frequent drone incursions from the Sinai Peninsula, with the unmanned aircraft smuggling items such as cigarettes, drugs, firearms, and grenades. Security officials have acknowledged the challenge, and the military has started installing interception systems in the area to counter the threat. According to the new commander of the Paran Brigade, some of these systems are already operational, while more are expected to be deployed after the upcoming holidays. Additional forces will also be sent to seize smuggling equipment and enhance security along the border.
