Researchers in Israel have developed a new treatment called MiTEs that enhances the immune system's ability to fight tumors. In preclinical studies on mice, MiTEs led to significant tumor shrinkage and extensive changes in immune cells, particularly macrophages and killer cells. Tests on human kidney cancer tissue also showed strong immune activation, including the awakening of killer cells. Early findings indicate that MiTEs may work well alongside current treatments such as checkpoint inhibitors, and could potentially be combined with chemotherapy and radiation in future research.
