The head of the Lahav 433 unit, Manny Binyamin, was detained by the Police Internal Investigations Department after refusing to sign restrictive conditions during an interrogation related to alleged conflicts of interest and promotion of a relative. Binyamin's lawyer claims that investigators confiscated his phone during a consultation and that Binyamin was physically assaulted by an investigator. The interrogation, which lasted much longer than expected, ended with Binyamin signing the conditions under protest and being released. His attorney criticized the department for what he described as unlawful detention, denial of legal counsel, and abuse of authority.
