A recent attack in the Jezreel Valley has raised concerns about security along the Jerusalem-area barrier. The breach, located near the Qalandiya checkpoint on Route 60, may have been used by Ahmad Abu al-Rub, a known repeat illegal entrant, to carry out the attack. Security forces neutralized Abu al-Rub after nearly an hour, and he is currently hospitalized in moderate condition. The incident follows a critical report from State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman, who warned that the barrier fails to adequately prevent illegal entry and terrorist infiltration.
