The British government has chartered a commercial flight from Muscat, Oman, to help British nationals leave the Middle East as regional strikes continue and much of the airspace remains closed. The flight is scheduled to depart on 4 March at 23:00 local time and will prioritise the most vulnerable passengers.
The Foreign Office said that British nationals who have registered their presence in the United Arab Emirates and are currently in Oman should urgently complete an online form if they wish to secure a seat. Travellers have been advised not to go to the airport unless they are contacted directly.
The government said it is working with airlines to arrange additional routes back to the United Kingdom. The Foreign Secretary stated that an estimated 300,000 British citizens are in Gulf countries affected by the disruptions.
