United States President Donald Trump said that Iran allowed ten oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, describing the move as a goodwill gesture during ongoing negotiations. Speaking at a Cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump characterized the transit as a significant and valuable concession.

Trump said Iran had initially indicated it would permit eight large oil tankers to pass, but the final number rose to ten. He suggested the vessels were flagged by Pakistan and framed the action as proof that Iran was serious about discussions with the United States.

The comments followed earlier remarks in which Trump referred to an unspecified energy-related 'present' from Iran. The development comes as he continues to push Tehran to agree to a deal aimed at securing the key maritime chokepoint and ending its nuclear program.
