The Israel Defense Forces said on Saturday that it carried out a targeted strike killing Ali Hassan Shaib, a member of Hezbollah's Radwan Force intelligence unit. According to the military, Shaib operated under the guise of a journalist for the Al Manar network while conducting intelligence-gathering activities.
The military stated that Shaib systematically exposed the locations of Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon and along the border, maintaining contact with other members of Hezbollah. He was also accused of spreading incitement against Israeli soldiers and civilians and disseminating propaganda on behalf of the group.
Even during Operation Roaring Lion, Shaib allegedly continued reporting on troop positions in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces said it would continue acting against Hezbollah, accusing the group of joining attacks on Israel and operating on behalf of Iran, and vowed to protect Israeli residents.
