Pakistani religious parties, including the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F (JUI-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), are planning a protest rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan monument in Lahore on April 27 in solidarity with Palestinians. The JUI-F chief announced the rally and the formation of a new platform called Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Ummat. The JI has also called for a nationwide strike on April 26 and urged citizens to boycott brands that support Israel. Pakistan has long condemned Israel's military actions in Gaza and supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
