New Yorkers heavily favor anti-masking legislation, poll says

A poll conducted by Siena College reveals that 64% of New Yorkers support anti-masking legislation, while 24% oppose it. The legislation aims to criminalize concealing one's identity while threatening or harassing someone. Some Jewish groups and legislators view this as a way to combat harassment and vandalism by masked anti-Israel agitators. However, the legislation has faced opposition from leftist groups and legislators, and its passage has been stalled in the state budget. The poll also indicates that New Yorkers have a negative view of Senator Chuck Schumer, with 49% having an unfavorable opinion and 39% supporting him, marking his lowest rating in two decades.
