The US Department of Justice has stated that the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, is not entitled to immunity from lawsuits in the United States, reversing a previous stance. The opinion was submitted as part of an ongoing lawsuit in which the families of victims of a Hamas-led terror assault are claiming $1 billion in damages from UNRWA. The lawsuit alleges that UNRWA aided and abetted the terror group's attack. The Department of Justice now concludes that UNRWA is not immune from this litigation.
