During a meeting with the Bank's regional vice president, Ousmane Dione, Sharif described the Bank's position as 'principled support' for Pakistan and reaffirmed the country's commitment to international law and regional peace. The World Bank clarified that the treaty does not allow for unilateral suspension and emphasized its strictly administrative role in the agreement. The meeting also covered ongoing development cooperation, including investments in energy, education, governance reforms, and climate resilience, and Sharif thanked the Bank for its assistance during Pakistan's devastating 2022 floods.
