IDF says it killed Rafah crossing chief who helped Hamas bring in weapons

The Israeli military announced it has killed Muhammad al-Amour, a senior Hamas official responsible for overseeing the goods terminal at the Rafah Crossing between Egypt and Gaza. According to the military, al-Amour played a central role in smuggling hundreds of weapons and military equipment into Gaza, significantly aiding Hamas's military capabilities. Over the years, he is said to have coordinated and led efforts to bring arms into the territory, working closely with collaborators. The Rafah Crossing, which was taken over and destroyed by Israeli forces in May 2024, was described as a key route for smuggling weapons into Gaza.
