Israeli startup aims to revolutionize security screening with AI-powered weapons scanner

Israeli startup Scanary has unveiled a new artificial intelligence-powered security screening system designed to transform how threats are detected in crowded public venues. The radar-based technology, led by Dr. Gideon Levita and CEO Ronen Yashvitz, enables rapid, non-invasive scanning of up to 25,000 people per hour as they move through spaces like airports, stadiums, and shopping malls, without requiring them to stop or remove personal items.

The system uses spatially deployed radar sensors and advanced algorithms to identify concealed weapons and dangerous items, distinguishing them from everyday objects to minimize false alarms. Security personnel receive instant alerts with video clips and threat details, while the platform is designed to protect privacy by not collecting visual images or biometric data.

Scanary has secured European certifications and is seeking approval in the United States, with pilot programs set to launch in Israeli airports and train stations. The company aims to address growing global demand for effective, privacy-conscious security solutions amid rising concerns over violence and attacks in public spaces.
