Israeli naval forces intercepted the Handala, a vessel organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, as it attempted to breach the naval blockade near Gaza. The ship, carrying around 21 activists and journalists along with symbolic aid, was stopped in international waters and towed to Ashdod Port. The operation was broadcast live until Israeli soldiers boarded, after which the stream was cut. All those on board were detained and are expected to be deported. Israeli authorities emphasized the risks and illegality of such attempts to break the blockade. This incident follows a similar interception in June involving another activist vessel.
