Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been recognized among the top 20 countries globally for artificial intelligence talent density, according to the Global AI Competitiveness Index. Saudi Arabia holds 0.7 percent of the world's AI talent pool, while the United Arab Emirates accounts for 0.4 percent, surpassing nations such as Russia and Italy. These achievements align with national strategies aiming to position both countries as leaders in artificial intelligence research, innovation, and economic transformation by 2030. Major investments in education, research partnerships, and infrastructure, including initiatives like the 10,000 Coders program and significant funding for smart city projects, are driving rapid growth in the sector. King Abdullah University of Science and Technology has also become the highest-ranking Middle Eastern institution for AI talent production, further solidifying the region's status as a rising hub for artificial intelligence expertise.
