Sky News has analysed the deaths of 465 Palestinians recorded on 18 March in the central Gaza Strip, revealing that out of 112 Israeli strikes verified, only 16 targeted known or suspected militants. The majority of casualties were civilians, with the deadliest attacks occurring before dawn when families were likely at home. Reports from Israeli intelligence officers suggest that suspected militants were deliberately targeted in their homes at night, leading to high numbers of family and neighbour deaths. Experts have raised concerns about the proportionality and legality of these strikes, while the Israeli military maintains that it adheres to the laws of armed conflict and investigates exceptional incidents.
