A co-founder of a pro-Palestinian campaign group has secured permission from London's High Court to challenge the British government's decision to ban the group under anti-terrorism laws. Huda Ammori, who helped establish Palestine Action, argued that the ban constitutes a disproportionate interference with freedom of expression. The ban, which came into effect on July 5, makes it a criminal offense to be a member of the group, with a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. Since the ban, several people have been arrested for showing support for the group, while government officials maintain that the group's actions justify the proscription.
