A 36-year-old man, Ahmad Said Atamneh, was shot and killed in the central Arab city of Kafr Qara. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene after finding him with multiple bullet wounds. Police have launched an investigation and set up checkpoints in the area to search for suspects. Earlier the same evening, an 88-year-old woman was accidentally shot and killed in the northern city of Arraba.
These incidents bring the number of Arab Israelis killed in violent incidents this year to 152, a significant increase compared to the same period last year. The rise in murders has led to criticism of police efforts and concerns about escalating violence in Arab communities.
