Pakistan Refinery Limited is set to import its first cargo of Nigerian Bonny Light crude oil in September, marking a shift in the country's sourcing strategy amid rising Middle Eastern oil prices. The shipment, totaling 500,000 barrels and supplied by Vitol, is expected to arrive in Karachi late next month. This move follows a recent deal by another Pakistani refiner to import United States crude, highlighting a broader trend among Asian refiners seeking more cost-effective alternatives. Traditionally reliant on Middle Eastern suppliers, Pakistan is now exploring new sources such as United States West Texas Intermediate and Kazakh CPC Blend to diversify its energy imports.
