Trump Nominates Tammy Bruce for U.N. Role

President Trump has announced the nomination of Tammy Bruce, currently the State Department spokeswoman, as the next deputy representative of the United States to the United Nations. Bruce, who has held her State Department role since January, is recognized for her frequent press briefings and her defense of the administration's foreign policy decisions, including its stance on Israel and its withdrawal from the U.N. cultural agency. Prior to her government service, Bruce was a political commentator and contributor at a major news network for over two decades, and previously organized for the Democratic Party before shifting her political views.

Bruce expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating her commitment to advancing America First leadership on the global stage. Her nomination follows the recent confirmation hearing for Michael Waltz, Trump's former national security adviser, who was nominated to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Both nominations require Senate confirmation.
