The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned the killing of journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqi, along with other media professionals, following an attack on a journalists' tent in Gaza City. The organization stated that this incident, which it attributes to Israel as the occupying power, constitutes a violation of international law and press freedom. According to the organization, 242 journalists have been killed in the occupied Palestinian territory since October 2023, and these actions are part of systematic violations against the media intended to obstruct the flow of information. The organization called for an international investigation to hold those responsible accountable and urged international institutions to take urgent measures to protect journalists in accordance with humanitarian law.
