Netanyahu says Hamas under 'immense pressure' after reports it dropped many of its hostage deal demands

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed recent reports suggesting that Hamas has reduced its demands and accepted a new proposal from Arab mediators regarding a hostage deal. In a video statement, Netanyahu emphasized that Hamas is currently under significant pressure as Israel continues its operations to take control of Gaza City. He reiterated Israel's position, stating that the government will only agree to end the conflict if Hamas releases all hostages, disarms, allows for the demilitarization of Gaza, and hands over control of the territory to a body other than the Palestinian Authority. Despite progress in talks between Arab mediators and Hamas, Netanyahu remains firm in his stance, while mediators hope that his rhetoric is a negotiating tactic and that a breakthrough may still be possible if Hamas further reduces its demands.
