German prosecutors have charged a Russian national, identified as Akhmad E., with planning an attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin and attempting to join a terrorist group. Authorities say he tried to make explosives using instructions found online but failed to acquire the necessary components. Akhmad E. was arrested at Berlin airport in February, allegedly en route to Pakistan for military training, funded by selling smartphones obtained through mobile phone contracts. He is also accused of translating propaganda for the group into Russian and Chechen. Charges include preparing and inciting a serious act of violence and attempting to join a terrorist organization abroad as a minor.
