Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of recent Israeli military operations inside Syrian territory, describing them as a violation of Syria's sovereignty and international law. The Saudi Foreign Ministry called the incursion a breach of the disengagement agreement signed between Syria and Israel in 1974, and expressed concern over rising tensions in the Suweida Governorate. Syrian authorities reported that Israel sent sixty soldiers to seize control of an area near Mount Hermon, an action they say threatens regional peace and security. Israeli officials stated that their troops were conducting routine activities in southern Syria and denied operating in Beit Jinn, close to the Lebanese border. The incident occurred as Syria and Israel participate in talks mediated by the United States, aiming to de-escalate conflict and potentially establish a security arrangement for future political discussions.
