Germany has called on Israel to immediately improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza, as the situation in the territory worsens. The German government's envoy for human rights and humanitarian aid, Lars Castellucci, emphasized the need for comprehensive and sustainable action in line with international law, condemning the suffering of civilians, particularly children. Despite increased German aid, Castellucci noted that assistance is ineffective if it does not reach those in need. He reaffirmed Germany's responsibility for Israel's security and urged the release of hostages, while also stressing the urgency of a ceasefire and advocating for a two state solution. The conflict in Gaza has resulted in thousands of civilian deaths and a declared famine, with hundreds of thousands facing catastrophic conditions.
