The Red Cross has collected a casket believed to contain the body of a slain hostage from Hamas in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The casket is being transported to Israeli forces inside Gaza, where a brief ceremony led by a military rabbi will take place. Following the ceremony, the remains will be sent to the Abu Kabir forensic institute in Tel Aviv for identification. If the body is confirmed to be that of a hostage, it would indicate that eighteen bodies of captives are still held in Gaza. Hamas has not disclosed the identity of the individual whose body was handed over.
