The body returned by Hamas overnight has been identified as Eliyahu 'Churchill' Margalit, a 75-year-old resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz. Margalit was killed during the October 7 attack and his body was taken to Gaza. His daughter, Nili, was also kidnapped but released in late November. Margalit, remembered for his dedication to the kibbutz's cattle and his love for horses, is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. With his body now returned, 18 bodies of captives are still held in Gaza.
