The agreement, signed at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit, expands on a previous ceasefire and includes provisions for the release of prisoners and the withdrawal of heavy weapons from a disputed border region. Sharif highlighted Trump's efforts not only in Southeast Asia but also in other global peace initiatives, including the ceasefire in Gaza and diplomatic moves between Pakistan and India. The Pakistani leader also commended Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his dedication to regional peace.
