In compromise, Likud and Yesh Atid figures to split leadership roles of WZO, KKL

Negotiations at the World Zionist Congress have led to a compromise over leadership roles at two major Zionist institutions. Rabbi Doron Perez will become the next chair of the World Zionist Organization, with a representative from Yesh Atid set to replace him halfway through his term. Meir Cohen of Yesh Atid will chair the Jewish National Fund-KKL, later handing the role to a Likud representative. The agreement is viewed as a balanced solution between liberal and conservative blocs, following previous terms where both positions were held by Likud members. The deal also marks the end of Meir Cohen's twelve-year tenure in the Knesset, as he prepares to take on his new responsibilities.
