An Israeli military operation in the southern Lebanese town of Blida resulted in the death of a municipal employee, Ibrahim Salameh, early Thursday morning. According to the Lebanese National News Agency, Israeli forces, supported by armored vehicles and all-terrain vehicles, crossed over a kilometer into Lebanese territory and stormed the municipality building where Salameh was sleeping. The raid, which began around 1:30 a.m., lasted several hours, with residents reporting hearing screams and pleas for help. After Israeli troops withdrew, the Lebanese Army and Civil Defense teams arrived at the scene and transported Salameh's body to a hospital. The Israeli military has stated that it is investigating the incident.
