Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has accused Israel of obstructing the full deployment of the Lebanese Army along the southern border by maintaining troops in five key areas inside Lebanese territory. Berri stated that 9,000 Lebanese soldiers have already been stationed south of the Litani River, emphasizing Lebanon's efforts to secure the region. He dismissed Israeli claims of weapon smuggling from Syria as unfounded, and affirmed that Hezbollah, referred to as 'the resistance,' remains committed to the ceasefire agreement. Meanwhile, Israel continues to allege ceasefire violations by Hezbollah and has increased strikes against the group's positions in southern Lebanon.
