Israeli settlers vandalized several graves in the historic Bab Al-Rahma cemetery, located next to the eastern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that such attacks are frequent, with settlers performing rituals in an attempt to claim the site. Israeli authorities are also excavating the area to build a base for a planned cable car project that will encircle the Old City. The cemetery, which contains graves of significant historical figures, is also targeted for conversion into a 'biblical garden' as part of broader efforts to reshape the character of the Old City.
