The United Nations Economic and Financial Committee has adopted a resolution affirming the Palestinian people's permanent sovereignty over natural resources in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and the occupied Syrian Golan. The resolution, supported by a large majority of member states, calls on Israel to stop exploiting resources in these areas and acknowledges the Palestinian right to seek compensation for such actions. The measure also draws attention to the ongoing destruction of Palestinian land, agriculture, and infrastructure, especially in the Gaza Strip. This resolution, submitted by the Group of 77 and China, will proceed to the United Nations General Assembly for a final vote in December.
