Jordan's King Abdullah II visited Islamabad for talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirming the longstanding relationship between the two countries. The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, education, technology, and defence. King Abdullah emphasized the importance of continued coordination for peace and stability in the Middle East, expressing solidarity with Pakistan against terrorism and highlighting the need for adherence to the Gaza ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery. Both leaders reiterated their support for an independent Palestinian state and warned against unilateral actions in the West Bank. Several agreements were signed to enhance media collaboration and cultural exchange, including the establishment of an Urdu language chair at the University of Jordan.
